You didn’t stay because you didn’t know.
You stayed because you did.
You saw it.
You felt it shift.
You recognized the moment something in you said,
“This isn’t right anymore.”
And still… you stayed.
Not because you were confused.
Not because you couldn’t see clearly.
But because the truth required something from you
you weren’t ready to give.
So you negotiated with it.
You minimized what you felt.
You told yourself it wasn’t that bad.
You adjusted your expectations…
until what once felt wrong
started to feel normal.
That’s how it happens.
Not all at once.
But slowly… quietly…
you learn to live with something
you were never meant to stay in.
And the cost of that isn’t always obvious.
It shows up in how tired you feel.
In how disconnected you’ve become.
In the way you keep showing up…
but not fully as yourself.
Because somewhere along the way,
you didn’t just stay in the situation—
you started leaving parts of yourself behind
just to remain in it.
That’s the truth.
And once you see it…
you can’t unsee it.
But here’s where this changes.
Staying was a choice.
And so is leaving.
Not always physically.
Not all at once.
But internally…
you can stop agreeing with what no longer aligns.
You can stop abandoning yourself
just to keep something else.
You can choose—today—
to be honest about what you already know.
Because the moment you do that…
you are no longer the same version of you that stayed.
You cannot heal what you refuse to face,
but facing it does not mean shame…
it means freedom.
