Survival doesn’t end just because the danger is gone.
Your body doesn’t forget quickly. Even when life looks calm on the outside, your nervous system may still be waiting for the next blow… the next loss… the next moment where everything changes again.
You may notice it in small ways.
Feeling on edge when nothing is wrong. Struggling to relax, even when you're safe. Always watching… always preparing… always expecting something to go wrong.
That isn’t weakness.
That is a survival system that stayed turned on too long.
Your body learned to protect you — and it did its job well. It carried you through moments that should have crushed you. Moments when your strength was the only thing holding your world together.
But survival mode was never meant to last forever.
There comes a time when the body has to learn:
It is safe to breathe again.
Not all at once. Not perfectly. Just one small moment at a time.
Today is about noticing how survival still lives in your body…and beginning to understand that you are no longer where you once were.
You don’t have to carry it alone anymore.
You don’t have to walk this part alone.
